iDrive Screen Reads 'Drivetrain Malfunction' helppp
Hello guys I have a issue with my 2016 bmw 320i & hopefully you guys can help me out. Alright so to start off my dashboard is showing the BRAKE light in red and also ‘rear brake pads’ saying to drive moderately’., that is the only light on my dashboard and that is the only issue that comes up on my reader, the ABS rear brake pads sensor worned out. With that being said, the issue that I’ve been experiencing is that out of nowhere I be driving my bmw and it goes on neutral and turns off and only then I get a message that on my iDrive screen reading “Drivetrain Malfunction: Drive moderately. Maximum Drivetrain output not available. Consult Service Center.” GUYS WHAT CAN BE CAUSING THIS? It is driving me crazy and worrying me as I am a first time bmw owner and I don’t even have a year with the car. I would like to also mention that I have only experienced this when the car is on a quater tank or less, I don’t know if that matter or not but I just thought I just say that. To continue, once I turn the car back on the message goes away and the car acts and drives like nothing ever happened until it randomly does the same thing again sometimes the same day and sometimes days later. Can anyone help me understand what is going on please?? Thanks in advance!

What are you using to read the codes, and any shadow codes popping up?
