It's just a 'fake exhaust' sound though right?
An aftermarket solution would be 100% better and alot cheaper for sure. I know a guy online who converted to quads on his 320d I think, with a whole new exhaust system and it sounded actually really good. Cost him around £400-500. |

Also check this video at the end, for £1300 odd there isn't much of a difference.
Most videos on YT, show a difference but not really much for your money. |

Judging by that video the sound difference from the driver seat will be non existent.

Even from the inside ot the car it sounds brilliant. I had the ACS dual exhaust prior to this and whilst that looked good, sound wise there is no comparison. The ACS exhaust didnt sound that much different to stock to be honest whereas this one sounds like a serious piece of kit. The videos dont do it justice, you need hear it in real life. |

How much internal trim needs to be removed to install this?
Are we looking at a wiring harness to the front of the car or connections being picked up at the rear? Any idea?

Here is a video of the Kufatec version fitted to a F30. There are 6 sounds which can be selected from the steering wheel.

For anyone interested I have found the BMW installation instructions for this kit (on a F30).
Exact part numbers are also shown listed. In German, but Google translate works well to get an idea of what is involved. Not DIY I don't think!

Wanted to add some more fresh info.
Just had this system installed to my F30 330d pre Facelifted model. WOW This exhaust is absolutely amazing. Not only it looks so much better than standard exhaust on 330d But the sound it produces is thrilling. After installing M Performance power kit and Body kit, The car looks was great and driving experience was great but lack of sound was making me thinking about a change. This exhaust is a game changer!! In comfort it sounds good. I can hear it outside and inside when acceleting. Sound very good and very classy. On Sport it sounds fenomenal. Outside and inside it's brilliant. Whoever thinks about it, go for it. I can clearly hear it inside having my radio on and windows shut. Outside it sounds like a proper V8 engine. 330d engine sounds really good and there is no hint of a diesel as soon as you drive off. My mates can't believe how good it sounds. LOVE IT!! And it will get even louder after few weeks according to BMW service apparently as there is some fluid in it that needs some time to go through. Can't wait lol Just to add - I had an audi RS4 4.2 V8 with optional sport exhaust for over 3 months not so long ago and the sound my car makes now is nearly identical to the V8 RS4 exhaust!! |
