M Performance exhaust

Had this fitted to my 328i last week. All I can say is, wow!!

Yes, I realise there are no performance gains and the car does have active sound module. But still, the difference in sound is like night and day.

I actually find myself driving with the music off and the windows down. Even in comfort mode, the sound is fantastic.

Only done around 200 miles so far so expecting it to sound even better after the ~1000/1500 miles break-in period.

If anyone is considering it, I say do it! Yes, there are aftermarket ones that are louder and probably sound better and provide performance gains but I'm very happy with it so far.

It's currently discounted as well and I had it fitted at my local independent which cost me £50 for 45 mins of labour.

Wholeheartedly agree. I love my MPE. Too much sound proofing in my car to hear it though :

By sound proofing you mean rattles and shakes and tyre noise, right?

Sounds like a decent mod and not too expensive either .

How are you finding the 328i generally? I recall in a previous thread that you were changing but can't recall from what.

@rich100 loving it so far. That said, only driven it a few hundred miles. Heads and shoulders above my F30 325d when it comes to engine and how it drives. Will look to add the ACS springs at some point this year as everyone says it's a no Brainer mod.

Good to hear and glad you're enjoying it.

Presumably it's in the delivery as I would imagine on paper performance between the 28i and the 25d is fairly similar?

Exactly. The delivery, the sound. Just the whole experience is better than the 325d.

Surprisingly, no rattles in my car. Tyre noise though..
My 20" runcraps are terrible for it. Trying to blitz through them to put some MPSS on haha.

On offer at the moment at £700 for the 3/4 28i.... It is a great add on as it is not so loud it annoys you, just there when you gun it

You could probably do better than that. Got mine for £715 and that's the 35i one! I'd push the dealers to sell for £650ish.

I was initially quoted around £900. Pointed out that it was on offer on BMW's website. They ended up matching but no better. That said, I didn't push them for any further discounts.

Is the offer price just for the part with install being extra?

Just the parts. I was quoted around £200 for installation. Got it installed at my local garage for £50 - 45 mins worth of effort.
