F32 440i developed a problem

Just got in to the car and the window wipers are constantly going. And nothing on the on any of the steering wheel controls are working or the wiper or indicator stalks. The car is only 15 months old so is under warranty. but it’s a little annoying that it’s developed a problem any thoughts guys thanks Ian

This does not appear to be a frequently reported problem. Cars are made of parts and parts, especially electronic sensors, can fail. Please update this thread after the dealer fixes the problem.

I will do mate the Mrs had just been out in it about 20mins before I went out and she said it was fine. Has no warning lights on dash board but indicators headlights flash don’t work. Wipers on constantly. No wash system working or steering wheel functions. It’s completely baffled me. Will be a phone call to my dealer in the morning hopefully a nice m4 loaner would be nice 😂. Could only dream haha

Steering wheel controls of unrelated systems (headlights, wipers, etc.) sounds like a localized power outage. I would check for a short in the power circuit and possible blown fuse due to over current. Do you have a circuit diagram? Maybe the fuses are labeled for where they supply power. If it actually is a short, then replacing a blown fuse will not get you very far until the short is eliminated.

UPDATE had the bmw tech come to my house today said seemed very strange. So he ran a diagnostic check on the car and it flagged up numerous faults. He said age and mileage of the car should not of done it. So basically he removed the negative battery terminal for approx 30 seconds. Then reattached it seemed to of solved it. He said he is gona send of the report to who ever and it’s all logged in the system. So he also said if it does it again it will have to go and get further investigation done. But seems to be fine now.
