When the car is idle (either in Park, or in drive with the brakes engaded), there is a very subtle shake to the car. I can feel the vibrations.
The car idles at about ~ 700 rpm. (It goes from 683 to 717 and changes.. it should be like this?) I replaced spark plugs (ngk) and engine mounts (febi), it still shakes and I really don't think this is normal. F30 328i sport line n20 |

Eh mine kinda shimmies very slightly as well. My old 328i did it worse than my 335i but both have a very subtle shake at idle, which would make sense as the 6 cylinder is more well-balanced than the 4 cylinder. I think it's normal. It's a 3 series after all. If you want to be totally isolated from the drivetrain vibrations, try a 7-series

Sounds like we having similar issue. I have a 2016 340 x drive, an when i would sit in the car after starting it up, it would shake a bit an the revs will dip like it wants to shut off but then it will catch itself and rise back up to idle. Sometimes it just shakes without the revs dipping but you feel it. One time it got so bad i got the dreaded dme. That was the worst its been. Took it to the dealer an they said its the vent valve. Replaced that, worked for a bit but a few months later it came rite back. Don't feel like paying another $180 to diagnose, an $120 for parts only to have it happen again.

Part number: 13907643106. You can try get it from other stores but it costs about the same from bmw. So i'd say get it from them. That's a vid on how to replace it. Same vid i watched to do it myself. Hope this helps. |

I just saw the add they ran for the LS400 back in the day on YouTube, running it to 6k rpm on a dyno with a pyramid of wine glasses on the hood and the water in them barely ripples. You're right. You want smooth buy an LS400 haha.

Sounds like a slight misfire. I had a misfire that wouldn't register codes. I managed to identify it with ISTA by reading the live data of the DME and picked up the exact cylinder that was misfiring. That can help you nail it down as it did for me.
