Hi there,

Drove my 2013 328i Xdrive on low transmission fluid accidentally for about 8 kilometres/5 miles. It was about 2 litres low. Speed was max 30mph/50kph and trip lasted a few minutes. I was stupid and an idiot, I know.

Long story aside, will this cause any problems?

I didn't receive any dash lights and the fluid did not smell burnt.

Im quite a bit worried and wasn't sure if I should be doing something. Can't stop thinking about it.

I since topped it up and it seems to be shifting normally. No issues immediately obvious to me. Once warmed up, it is quite smooth.

You still had at least 8 liters of fluid so I doubt you did any damage.

I think you'd feel the trans act funny before damage would occur, they usually act funny when fluid is low etc, highly doubt any damage happened.
Fill it up correctly and enjoy the car

What they said. If it was "too low" you'd find that it would slip when in gears, etc which would be a bad thing.
