Possible LPFP FAILURE?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I know there is a huge recall on F30's for a LPFP issue. I have not received anything from BMW and I have a 2013 MY, I was told by my mechanic All 2013 F30's are recalled and "it's so embarrassing for BMW"

He told me there's an huge part shortage.

I just started noticing this THUNK sound coming from my rear floor board and rear seat area. It freaked me out, I thought I was a rod bearing. It's getting loud as heck. Mechanic told me do not drive vehicle any longer until I can get it serviced.

Check out the vid and sound. Anyone experience this?

When my LPFP failed it was without warning and left me on the side of the road. Then after trying to turn the car back on it would turn over for ~30 seconds without actually starting.

So maybe, but not what I experienced.

Yeah my BMW mechanic friend said the same thing cars are getting towed in, he told me stop driving it and call and set up and appointment. He replaced one that wasn't on the recall list under the recall order because when he scanned the car it told him to proceed with the repair.

Yes it's CPO. I'm just hoping they do it under the recall program, I have mods and It would be easier that way. But I can unbolt the mods always too.

It was fixed under recall, got the car back the same day. Thump sound is gone. now that I listen to the pump, it's not the quietest thing in the world. No thump but it does buzz a bit lol.

Here are the part numbers for reference.

Not sure Mike, my friend Alex just got a different letter pertinent to his fuel pump and some type of evap system and that BMW extended the warranty for these parts 10yrs/120,000mi.

It's a shame this keeps happening. My BMW mechanic buddy told me he's super embarrassed for his dealership how many they're changing out .

Yes they were very good about it, and I'm super familiar and close with my dealer and I'm upfront about mods and flash/tuners they usually are very happy to get the service and look the other way, and in this case they told me mods do not matter or where there at the recall overrides anything and once the car is there they MUST perform the repair under the bulletin no questions asked.
So just a heads up to all worrying about mods and things of that nature.
