What codes can be programmed by Dealer

Before I pick my car up I would like to understand what thing can be programmed by the dealer - folding mirrors when I lock the car etc... Anyone have a list of what is possible please?

What's possible and what they're willing to do are two entirely different things. For example the remember last setting for auto stop/start. My dealer reckoned he had never heard of it and I got the impression that it would have been a firm no anyway. Cable off eBay and some much appreciated help from members on here and I'd done it myself.

You can fold the mirrors when you lock the car by holding down the lock button. With coding you can change the delay to save holding down the button or make it instant but the dealer will not help you with that.

In answer to your question I would say the dealer wouldn't code anything for you.

Most likely scenario is they don't know what you are on about.

Sorry the BMW genius as they are known at Stratstone don't anyway...

They won't do it because its outside of normal operating procedures, however don't think they'd have an issue with it being done by anyone else. I had the same issues with VW on my GTi. They said they wouldn't do it but then turned a blind eye to the bits I did.

They can code your car so the Auto Stop Start (ASS) remains in the last position. I just had it done.

US dealers may be a little more flexible?

That is US only, our dealers won't do it.

The dealers don't have access to Esys to do all the coding you probably want. Best to find a few blokes to split the cost of a license with
