Tire Rotation Procedure
About to rotate my tires tomorrow and figured Id ask the group their opinion...
I have a RWD. Do you "cross the rears to the front" and "move the fronts straight back" or Just move the fronts to the rears and vice versa (keeping tires on same side of car). I know this isnt the biggest deal and just keeping the tires moving is the main point for even wear but I was wondering people's thoughts. |

On square setup, if the tires are directional you can only swap them front for back - keep on same side
If not I use to cross them + front to back each time With my staggered setup there's no rotating at all...

Those with staggered can only rotate from side to side. Do it and do it often for best results. |

What tires?
On my wifes car (asymetrical all-seasons) I rotate front to rear, then left to right. On my car (directional summer tires) I only rotate front to rear. Crossing tires is ideal but a headache to do without a lift, so I don't do it. Just doing f/r and l/r every 5k has treated me well. |

Im going to cross the fronts back to the rear and move the rears straight up. Thats what I was taught from a young age. Wanted to hear other opinions. Appreciate all the responses! |

I use a winter wheel as the 5th wheel and my garage jack and then i just come full circle back to that wheel at the end and its simple.

Its called a rearward cross rotation pattern and recommended for RWD with square setup and non directional tires.
