Turning off Fog Light turn signal

My front fog lights come on when ever I turn, I know its a safety thing, but I really don't like it.

Is there any way of turning this feature off?

Cornering lights, I'm think they have been coded, not sure it is a standard thing.

No help in that sentence, sorry.

Did you acquire the car pre-owned? If so a previous owner has coded them that way.

Aren't like that from the factory? Thought you had to code them to be off.

They’re part of an upgrade - the visibility pack unless they’ve been coded in. Heard of them being codeable using BimmerCode etc so presume this can turn them off

You soon get used to and like them

They are supposed to come on when turning over a certain steering angel at less than 25 mph, what I want to know is whether the standard feature can be switched off?

Yes, it can be turned off using Bimmercode. (I turned them on in my car).

If you are anywhere near Bradford, I'd be happy to turn them off for you. I still have my Bimmercode and Vgate, although I have recently changed my BMW for a Volvo.

Thanks.

Why don't you like it? Mine could be doing it, or they might not, how would I know and why would anyone care from the driver's seat?

Hmmm, would you consider selling them!

Exactly, you wouldn't know - it makes no visible difference from the driver's seat so a complete waste of time.

It is part of the visibility pack or can be coded on or off. I agree OP, looks gash and I turned them off on mine (were on from factory as part of visibility pack).

I think the also go off if you turn the auto headlights off and turn your lights on manually, using the headlight switch. I.E. they only work in Auto mode. However, your adaptive lights will stop working too if you manually turn your headlights on

Because they look shit. Yellow halogens have no place a £40k+ car.

Possibly. I have friends who keep asking me to code things for them. I might have to hang on to it for a few weeks yet.

I have quite a few bits and pieces i'll be putting on the For Sale section soon (for example: OEM illuminated Sills, upgrade ambient lighting strips etc).

ps - Before activating my Active Fog Lights, I had upgraded my Fog Lights to LEDs. The original halogens did look terrible.

Bulbs are easily changed and LCI are LED.

Mine's pre LCI and in my opinion provide no safety or visibility benefit whatsoever.

This feature always makes me think that one of my fog lights is out when I see the reflection on a car in front of me.

Agreed that it looks shit, but on my F31 at least, it does make a visible difference. Nothing extreme, but I'm aware they're on.

Thank you, please let me know if you do decide.

Cornering lights are a stupid idea. Invented by the French.

The idea isn’t stupid, the use of fog lights to provide the light or rather lack of light is!

Also, both fog lights come on when reversing too if the car has Vis pack or adaptive headlight option.

Indeed. When I first got the car, my neighbour over the road came over just after I had reversed into my drive to tell me one of my fog lights wasn't working. Reversing in at an angle must have activated one of the cornering fogs.

I'm sorry it really is. They provide zero increased visibility from the drivers seat. If anything I would say the annoyance of seeing 1 fog light on another car is more of a distraction than anything else.
