Dinan is looking for an F series diesel
heard on another forum they are looking to do some testing on an F series. if anyone in the bay area is interested hit them up. I know they are a supporting vendor here, so if you are in the Bay area of Cali maybe PM the guy. just passing it along as I didn't see it here anywhere

I exchanged emails with a very nice Dinan rep about 328d tuning back in June, and their March 2016 request for a test car on Bimmerpost came up. Here's what the rep wrote:
"No one came forward with those inquiries and then the priorities shifted as they always seem to do and diesel was backburner again. If you did a bit deeper on the forum you will probably find 2 other instances trying to find diesel development cars that pre-date that one by about a year or more. The issue always seems to be that when we have a window of development time we want to act on it but if it takes too long to get a car something else comes up and whatever stuff we were trying to do is relegated to the back of the line again. With the limited demand, especially here in the bay area, for diesel, and thus development cars I think it will just come down to the planets aligning just right in order for it to happen. My own personal opinion at least…" So, as of June, Dinan's 328d tuning development was on the back burner again I'm a bit surprised that no one in the Bay Area came forward with a 328d, but maybe everyone who drove one of those has switched to a Tesla? |

Planets aligning indeed. They said they wanted to get on it sooner than that. There are lots of 328d's in the Bay (plenty of sedans), the problem is that most of them look like they're being driven by people that don't care about handling and performance (I mean just look at how ridiculously rare one with the Adpative M suspension is!). |

We have a SPORT tune worked out for the older E chassis style but we are desperately trying to get a newer F chassis version in the shop to finish off the diesels. We are pretty sure its going to be very similiar but need a car to test and make sure.
If anyone knows an F chassis diesel in the bay area that wants a free tune send'em my way! |

I think the problem is that most ppl who owns diesels needs their cars everyday and might not have a 2nd vehicle. It doesn't mean a tune from Dinan will not be popular. I would definitely be getting a tune from Dinan for my 328d if it ever comes out.

We have a local guy actually that has offered his GTS but given the market size I doubt we would actually do anything with it. That said I'm sure the guys will find an excuse to bring it in for "evaluation".
