Hello everyone,
i wanted to ask you what upgrade option do i need in order to get the pops/crackles from the 440i ? Im looking to get a used 2015-2016 model 440i from the UK but i want to have that loud exhaust with pops and bangs.

like in this video, is this exhaust only for the 2018 model?

im trying to find a car on autotrader with m performance exhaust but i never saw that in the options list

If you want to keep it all BM you need the MPPSK kit fitted at the dealers.

It gives you a cat back system and an ECE tune , official BHP with the kit is around 360 but cars are being tested closer to 380.

There will be many other aftermarket systems and engine tunes available for the 440 which others members on here will be more familiar with.

hmm so its not a common upgrade? because i searched for MPPSK in autotrader nothing came up
i dont want to install aftermarket exhaust, im just looking for a used 440i with this exhaust that crackles/pops/bangs

If it is a priority then cant you buy a standard car and have the MPPSK fitted before it gets imported.

2015 vehicles have N55 engine. 2016 vehicles have B58 engine. M Performance Power kit changed with the introduction of B58 engines and required both the tune and exhaust. However, you can now buy M Performance exhaust separately for B58 equipped vehicles.

If your budget is flexible, Akrapovic exhaust has few equals although one cannot judge exhaust by sound alone.

i cant find a "m performance" option in the details are you sure thats the option name for the exhaust? maybe its included on "m sport plus?" or "m package?"

The one in the Straight Pipes video has the MPPSK (M Performance Power and Sound Kit - only comes as one thing). Make sure it either has it or buy it and have it fitted by BMW. Only works on cars without the OPF which was introduced in mid/late 2018. So you should be fine on that.

Yes , it is a BMW accessory at additional cost and normally fitted after the initial vehicle purchase.

I posted two UK eBay links , both of cars have the MPPSK fitted.

Search eBay for BMW MPPSK and there are still a few systems available from some dealers.

No , the MPPSK is a full cat back exhaust and an ECU tune.

If it is a non-main dealer that is selling the car then maybe they dont know what they are looking at and it may have the full kit fitted.

They said they are approved bmw dealership.

what does the back box do? is it louder than stock? is it close to the mppsk?

If you watch the first video (at around 2 mins) you can see how the MPE backbox is fitted to the standard system , this will tell you whether it has just the rear box OR the full MPPSK system.

They are between £1500 -> £2000 fitted.
