BMW Car Club meet. Sherbourne Castle

Had a great day out today at Sherbourne Castle with the BMW Car Club meet. A soggy day but the variety of BMW metal more than made up for it. Some cracking examples of most eras and marks.

Quality cars on show there. The E30 M3 is the car that made me fall in love with BMW back in the '80s.

Very interesting chatting to the two chaps with the Sahara cream 2002. The car was bought by chap on the left's mum from new in 1972. She didnt use it much and it degraded over the years though lack of use. Him and his son (chap on the right in blue shirt) did a nut and bolt restoration over the past several years. It only has 40,000 on the clock from new and is probably better than when it left Munich! Powder coat paintwork is like glass and the level of detail throughout is amazing.

The Z1 (1991) was lovely too having only covered 4000 miles :O

A real grown up meet with some proper enthusiasts. The shark nose's were the centre piece with a cracking E9 3.0 CSL (unfortunately minus rear wing).

Looks like a cracking day and some lovely cars.

Total respect for people that spend time and effort restoring / preserving cars / vehicles, it takes a hell of a lot of patience and determination.

That 6 is epic. Even has my initials on the plate. I'll take it.
