2012 328i Oxygen (O2) Sensor Issue
I have a 2012 328i Sedan with 29,635 miles and yesterday the CEL came on. I took it to AutoZone where they gave me the following code: P0030 H02S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
A few questions: 1. Has anyone else had this and is it something that can be repaired in the driveway or is it best that I take it to the dealership or another mechanic? 2. Is it unusual for it to happen with such low mileage or did it age out after 5 years? 3. How long can I expect to drive before it becomes a serious issue? It literally just came on yesterday morning. If you have any other comments or sugggestions I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance for the responses and advice! |

You will need to lift up the car and remove the cat to be able to replace the o2 sensor. It is the same step as installing a downpipe.
But if your engine is a n26 you still have a 15 years 150k miles warranty to replace for free |

Why would he need to remove the cat for a precat sensor? Can't you get to it from above at the exhaust manifold?

Are there any forums or youtube videos that show how to replace the bank 1 O2 sensor on the BMW F30? Mine has just under 80,000 miles and it is throwing the same code.
