My experience with Maxchip 320D GT
I'm not new to after market performance chips / tunning boxes. I had installed it on my previous cars i.e Suzuki Swift (Diesel) & Volkswagen Polo (Petrol). Having 3 diesel cars (ML350, Yeti and GT) i'm always tempted to begin upgrades with performance chip as the installations are quick and gains are reasonably higher in diesel engines with stock setup.
Paid 124,21 € (including shipping) for the basic upgrade from maxchip which promised 20% gains. Though i have the B47 engine the output was rated at 184bhp 380nm. The graph posted here is wheel horse power. There's not much difference that you feel while driving. Maxchip has provided couple of dials for tuning and since it's a single channel which controls only the fuel there's not much room more improvement. |

+1. If substantial gains could be realized with something so simple BMW would do it. Besides, there's a fine line to be tread between performance and reliability. Going over that line is an acceptable risk in a racing situation, but the most important thing to me isn't how fast I get to where I'm going, it's being sure I'll get back home again.
