I believe he’s wrong about that. You can get the M Performance brakes (Yellow, Orange, or Red) for about $1600-$1700 brand new. It’s a different story with the blue m sport brakes though.

Unless your car came with these brakes already, the only way you would be able to buy these brakes brand new is to buy each part individually. One of the front calipers already costs around $700. Buying the whole kit would at least cost over $2000 which makes me not understand F-TWENTY-2 comment on these brakes going for $1400 brand new.

I paid $1300 brand new from getbmwparts last year for a set of yellow. But that's not including the rear rotors.

Pagid now sells the dimpled and slotted 2 piece rotors and they are exactly the same as what bmw sells but for half the price.

I think what they are saying is that there's no BLUE kits available. Factory option only. So for people that want Blue with rotors included I think 1200 can be fair, although that passenger side is scraped pretty bad.

What size rotors? they look like the ones that grey brembos come in.

Does the blue color really make them that much more expensive? I mean for the 1600 you get all 4 calipers, front rotors, pads all around and the shields. And that's from several vendors, and if you ask, nicely even cheaper on eBay. It's the same caliper as the other colors.

It's not really about the comparison of colors. You're actually comparing two different product lines. The blue m sport brakes are NOT in the same product line as the m performance brakes. There is no such thing as a blue m performance brake. Two different products thus two different prices. Here's the link. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-b...ke-Differences

At the end of the day, the two calipers are exactly the same. What makes the kits different are the rotor sizes. If a person wants to buy a new m performance brake kit for $1600, that's fine. If they want to buy the blue m sport brakes, that's fine too. I'm just here to sell my brakes cause my lease is ending soon.

So you agree they are the same caliper. How can you argue they are a different product if that is true, and they accept the same sized rotor, but blank, in most cases, or with a smaller rotor in other? I could understand if this color was rare, but we see these pop up pretty frequently.

This is my first bmw, and it's just interesting that I've noticed a lot of weird pricing logic for certain parts, here.

I any case GLWS.

They are the same caliper but the color of the caliper determines if the calipers are from the m sport brake upgrade option from the factory or from the m performance brake kit.

Here are your options when it comes to purchasing a brand new OEM brake kit.

1. Buy the M Performance brake kit (Yellow, Red, or Orange) for $1700.
2. Buy the parts of the blue m sport brake upgrade option individually for at least $2300. This is just a rough estimate so don’t grill me in this haha.
3. Have your car come with the blue m sport brake upgrade for a additional $700. Of course, this is the cheapest option but we all know adding the package from the factory is always going to be cheaper than adding it in the future.

The blue m sport calipers are not rare. They are just harder to get because you would have to buy them used off cars that came with that factory option or M cars.
