Can anyone tell me why my exhaust sounds like the flaps are open on a cold start?

Maybe I just don't know what i'm talking about. But, in this video it sounds like my flaps are open at cold start? I thought this was only supposed to happen after like 30-45 seconds of the car starting? Not a big deal, just curious.

I have a active autowerke tune and downpipe if that helps.

That is your turbo wastegate opening during coldstart. Normal operation, enjoy it!

Mine does this too. AA tune + dp. Do you have cold start delete on your tune? I think that may have something to do with it. Mine starts up with it open, and if I drive off in Comfort mode, I can hear it close within the first few seconds.

Did a cold start video recently with a decent mic of my 328i with stock exhaust as I am doing a 335i muffler and M Sport diffuser conversion. Can definitely hear the valves closing 30-40 seconds in.

That's the sound of the valve closing, not opening. Every time you start up the car it will close the valve

Not necessarily. Stock programming, yes. But as I mentioned, I also have an AA tune on my car and on startups, the valve is open. Might be a coding thing with their map, possibly linked to cold start delete, but all my maps have no cold start due to running catless so I can't test it myself.

I really like it. My shop installed it, but I dont know where the tune itself is. When I was waiting for it to be installed, the owner told me he was using the one i ordered to reflash his M5, so I assume he meant he was using the program or simon cable not my actual product. So theres that.

The tune itself is great, obviously very noticeable. My car already had pretty crazy burble as stock and it made it sound even better. Nothing bad to say about it. Have had a few quirks where a friend was driving and it felt like he was pressing the gas on and off really quick, like jolting the car, but it could have just been my friend who i let drive. He said it wasnt him, idk. I want to say im pushing an extra 100 hp with the tune and DP. So right now im probably at around 430hp. Im actually going to dyno it this weekend. You can't launch super well, the shifting points are weird but again, that could just be me as i had a charger before this bmw (which i dont miss the slightest). All around i love the tune, just wish my shop was closer so i could more easily ask them about the aforementioned. Not a lot of people on here seem to have an AA high perf tune on their F32. The shop is a AA and Dinan dealer and wants me to stay AA for the rest of my bolt ons (surprise surprise), but i would like to mix it up to make it more unique. Plan on either doing an exhaust or FMIC/Intake combo. Any suggestions?

Here are before and after videos of the engine at normal warm levels.

AA's website says up to 80hp gains...100ft/lb gains at the wheels. Curious to see what you put down on the dyno!
