Diagonal bars behind kidney grilles

What are they for? I kind of want to paint them a crimson red or royal blue.

Yes, answer is in the name, it's referred to as a "V-Brace".

BMW are using a lot of reinforcement bars/struts these days, across the platforms.

Good idea. I found these last night. I think it gives the car a subtly aggressive look.

matte black radiator paint would be even easier and conceal better. along with the IC and radiator.

painting them red reminds me of the RPI intakes on e60 M5.

Stupid question here: how do you access those bars? Taking off the grilles?

I would think to wrap those bars properly you need to take off the entire front bumper.

Wrapped mine tonight while I was changing to gloss black dual slat grilles. Plenty of room to access the bars when the grilles are removed.

How would you wrap them? If you take the roll around, doesn't that leave visible creases of each turn over each other sort of thing?
