3D Printed Air Scoop (335i N55)

I've been wanting to add the AFE air scoop to the car for ages and never really wanted to spend the money on something that probably doesn't do a great deal... However, i enjoying 3D printing and with the help of jcdub who very kindly sent me the file for the print i've now printed and installed the scoop. Quality is excellent and fitment is good too.

I'm more than happy to share the file. It's roughly a 16 hour print once you've set the right parameters.

Cheers
G.

Looks great, we'll done!!! PLA?
I had big plans when I bought my Ender S1 but gave up after 3 months and sold it. Couldn't handle the stress of failed prints! I will buy one from you if you are up for printing another

You would need it mirrored for the 440 as it's on the other side.

Used PLA, still going nice and strong. I've sent across to all people that requested it.

Modified scoop

Thank you Iyrix for the file! I modified it last night and just extended the scoop section to go as close as it can to the grill to act more as a "duct" it printed somewhat perfectly in PLA first go in 18hrs on a .6mm nozzle. I highly recommend you print with tree supports rather than grid.

After getting the file from lyrix - (thanks again) I printed it and very, very poorly skinned it in carbon fibre. It might not look great, but at least it should be stronger!

Looking at the other photos on here mine looks like it is the wrong way round.

I Dont know if you've already tried this or not. But being a diesel or not it wouldn't matter. As all intake vents are the same, just depends on the side it is

Here's the file for the scoop for the left side, when looking at the front of the car.

I can't upload the file here. Here's a link to the file. Again it's for the left side (When looking at the car from the front.
