Mix matching H&R springs?
Hi. Honest question. Would installing H&R SUPER Sports in the front and just standard Sports to the rear damage or have any actual negative impacts to the ride? Curious because I love how my rear sits and wheel fitment with my current standard Sports, but I'd love the front to be lowered a bit more. Not looking to spend more money for coilovers. I remember older 3-Series had spring perches that would lower the ride without changing the spring; does one exist for the F30?

Hi. Honestly this will mess up the driveability. There is a reason for matching springs.
But if you just want the car to look good, and doesn't care that much about driving it it's possible. And for the price of two springs you should give it a shoot.

There is definitely a reason for matching springs and even more important reasons why coilovers have been designed: matching springs and shocks, ability to control ride height, and ability to provide independent dampen / rebound controls (more expensive models of course). In short - there aren't less or more expensive options. Only options which delivers desired capability at the price which reflects these capabilities.

People on here are so funny...I say give it a try. My guess is the ride will be a little bit rougher for switching to supersports up front, but probably not that much different from your current ride.
Are you happy with the ride on your H&R Sports btw? Curious because I hear such mixed things. |
