Affordable 18" Wheels
I just picked up 2015 328i Sportline which has 18" staggered wheels. The tires are do for a change, but some of the wheels have curb rash. My options are either spend $600 to have the wheels powdercoated, or find a decent set of budget wheels to replace them.
If I replace the wheels, I'd like to go wider front and back for more grip. Can anyone recommend some sets of good looking 18" wheels that won't empty my wallet? I'm considering either silver or black wheels. Not sure which to go with yet but my car is Mineral White. Thank you! |

You can have curb rashed wheels repairs. Depending on how extensive the rash it, it could be as high as that $600 to powder coat but it will most likely be significantly cheaper. You're only options aren't to PC or buy a new set. I would look into that first, considering any decent set of wheels is going to be a good chunk more than $600.
If you're looking for more grip, look first to your tire compound |

Unfortunately powder coating is a little expensive here and 600 is about how much it would cost. I was looking at replica wheels from CM Wheels which are pretty affordable, but all the styles I would consider are sold out. If I go with new wheels I'd like to go a little wider without rolling the fenders so I can mount a wider tire on it. Thanks! |

I'd personally stick to OEM wheels over cheap aftermarket or replica sets. Quality after market is a different scenario and most often big money (like BBS for example).
I had a great experience with powder coating a set on my last F30. Pic in garage absolutely no issues after 3 years and many miles. Cost $450 total but there was basically no damage repaired. $500-$600 with some actual repair work doesn't seem too bad. |

There are a lot of good aftermarket companies like Apex or OZ that make quality wheels which are both lighter and stronger than OEM and cost less...probably look better too.
If I was looking at a new set of wheels, OEM would be my last choice.

I think he was saying to stick with the OEM wheels he has now (i.e. repair/powder coat them) rather than purchasing a cheap set of replicas. Apex and OZ, while being good quality and cheaper than OEM, are still going to be a good bit more than $600 for a set of 4

The poster above my comment mentioned "big money" for total replacement going with someone like BBS. I was just trying to highlight the fact you can go aftermarket without hitting a top brand like BBS.
