N20 code 2C57 charging pressure control

I just got my timing chain serviced and a walnut blasting don't on my high mileage n20. Mechanic says a new code has popped up. P2906 - intake plenum suspected leaked between exhaust and intake valves.

Sounds to me like stuck carbon in the valve seating surfaces?

Any ideas. Thanks in advance

Thanks. Mechanic seems to think there's a cracked intake pipe from the air filter box to the turbo and another pipe coming off that to the engine block.
