I'm getting pretty fed up with the content of many of the posts on the forum of late - e.g. NTG multiple persona, irrelevant posts, vocal political opinions, general intolerance of differing opinions, offensive and inappropriate, not safe for work topics and photo etc.

This forum needs a lot mor active moderation and im going to spend a lot less time here as a result.

All that and the various OT stuff do sort of keep the forum sane.

I guess we could have a go at just saying everything is nice.

There have been no real major personal attacks.

I do sometimes think some of the posts are OTT (looking at you Greek chameleon) but as others have said if you don't like them don't read them, I find most of them very amusing. This forum is a good mix of 3 series topics, fun and banter. It's easy to spot which posts are likely to cause offence.

I think some of the off topic threads make this forum a more interesting read. Look at the F10/11 forum It's one of the reasons I changed my F11 to a F31 (not really). Most of the banter is funny. I'm a new member, and i took the banter for what it is. Although I suppose my personal sense of humour made that easier, some people's style of humour is different.

Having said that, I think some people take it too far and some of the content is childish to say the least. I mean, a thread on the Syria vote and surrounding politics is all well and good. However, giving it the title it was given is just plain childish. Some of the images are, quite frankly, immature. I get the impression that there are some personalities posting here regularly who think they are bigger than the forum.

At the end of the day, this is a BMW F3x forum and most of the content should be about BMW F30's. However, the world around us is pretty important too as it can affect whether we can afford cars, whether we should buy certain cars, so it's more than reasonable that these are discussed too.

We just need a little more and some on here need to grow up.

I take your point and agree that it should be more car orientated. The clue is in the name, f30 Bimmerpost.
There does seem to be more off topic and drifting from topic recently. Politics should be left to politicians. (and see the messes they get into!)
As to offensive posts, what is offensive to one is humour to another, there's no accounting for taste.
However the individuals right to disagree should not be dismissed, as everyone has a right to express their point of view in a forum however different it may be from your own.

I mentioned it before, but an OT sub-forum would de-clutter the main UK section.

We had to do the same in the E90 UK section.

In the end the off-topic section was probably more lively than the main section, and certainly many kept popping by long after moving to other brands.

We just need to start a thread/poll requesting an Off Topic section, and use the feedback to persuade the mods.
