Hey guys! I wanted to make this post to keep up with and hopefully answer a few questions for people along the way. Quick backstory. I have had my 2017 340i for almost 2 years now. I have 52500 roughly on it, and I do daily it 20 miles a day. I am currently on Stage 2 + bootmod3 (93 octane). Anyway, I've been looking at turbos for about 6 months now, I have watched Kern's youtube videos over and over trying to decide if it's worth it, what turbo to get, it is reliable…etc. Well yesterday my tuner, who is a good friend of mine reached out to me, and well talked me into buying the new pure 800 cast turbo, and I did. So here we are. My install date is the 28th of October, and I should have the car back first week of November. I was unsure if I wanted to do Vargas GC, Daw, or pure. So I guess pure it is, I will be doing a custom tune on 93 pump ONLY. So that will answer a lot of questions out there, and my goal is 550whp. So I will keep this updated as a go! Thanks for reading!

Hey man, I do. It's about 20 minutes, so it's definitely something I can do later down the road. I do have the upgraded fuel pump, stage 1. I had a WRX on a E50 mix before this car. I just got really tired of driving 20 minutes for gas. So I bought the VP 6 gallon tanks, but I really wanna test out a straight 93 tune first to see how the car does.

My current mods are the following:

CTS Intake
Stage 1 Fuel Pump from Dorch
Vsrf Catless Downpipe
Awe Tuning Exhaust and Midpipe
and Sparkplugs.

I go off of what Kern says. He says the stock charge pipe is rated for more power then I am shooting for

What made you decide on the pure 800?

I'm looking at the same setup with a TU pump but on 91 pump. Looking at B58s pure 800 he has for sale. 500 whp is fine with me but I don't want to sacrifice any low end.

So honestly. The only reason I went with pure is because the new cast one does not require a core deposit, and my tuner told me they are 1 left in stock at the time. So I just went with it. I was really going to go with DAW to be honest, but the guy who tunes my car works with a lot of pure tubro bmws. So I trusted his opinion. And yes, that is why I am going to do a 93 tune because it seems like a lot of people may not have access to E. So I really want to see how the car does on just 93 considering there is a lot of debate on how our cars perform on 93 only.

I ordered the Pure 800 cast as well. Dorch Stage 2 is sitting in the garage, waiting for its new partner. Six new injectors will be here Tuesday. I'm shooting for 620 WHP on E40-E50.

I'm running the OG Pure800 with a Dorch stage 2 on 94 + meth, you will not be disappointed. Currently doing revisions on E50 + meth and she is absolutely flying.

I believe my tuner is charging me $750. I know it may seem like a lot. But I suck at working on cars. So to me it's worth it.
