does updating i-level (ISTA) erase my bm3 and xhp?
i have rear camera failure and one post is suggesting to upgrade my iLevel using ISTA which is what i m going to do by going to dealership.
my car does have hidden features mods, bm3, xhp, and i m afraid that if i m updating my iLevel, it will erase everything, and worst yet, lock my DME. do i need to worry? thanks. |

Yes it'll erase any module it decides needs to be coded. But you can always redo your coding and xHP later. If you program the DME it will lock it. Depends on date of manufacture whether it will need a bench unlock or you can do it with MHD unlocked. I ordered MHD unlocked after an i-Level update.
If you don't want to have your DME locked you could do it in E-Sys and only to the needed modules and dependencies. I had an issue with cameras. They didn't work 95+% of the time. Updating all the modules fixed it. |
