MG Flasher B48/B46 Closed Beta Testing is LIVE!

We here at MG Flasher are excited to release the Closed Beta of our tuning options for the B48 motor.

We have recently successively completed our B58 tuning project, including our B58 BETA testing phase with incredible results and great feedback, which can be found in our official B58 thread original MG Flasher B58 announcement thread

B58 BETA tester's feedback HERE

Sign up link redirects you to send an email with your request to become a BETA Tester.
For our BETA testers we offer the MG Flasher Flashing License + the full OTS map pack all inclusive including MG Flasher Logger.

We encourage our BETA testers to leave appropriate feedback using on their selections and we are more than happy to work through any concerns that you might have.

MG flasher provides the user flashing capability of various OTS maps along with custom flashing option for BMW Fxx/Gxx series equipped with B58/B48/B46 engine.
MG flasher is a mobile application that has been prepared for Android users (iOS iPhone version coming soon)

The tuning process has never been easier. Simply connect the mobile device to your OBD connector with the supported Wi-Fi adapter or K+DCAN cable and tune your BMW within minutes with the provided OTS maps or use custom option for flashing maps prepared by your tuner.
  • OTS maps/ All OTS pack (subject to additional cost – Beta users will have it all included at no additional charge!)
  • Custom flashing – flash custom maps
  • Logger - log real time data and plot it into graphs for troubleshooting and optimizing
  • Diagnostic- Read and clear BMW specific DTC's
  • Reset various adaptations, restore coding
  • CVN number (Checksum Verification Number) along with flashing counter stays untouched. This means our software will be virtually invisible to dealer level diagnostic tools
Various other custom options are available with each OTS map including:
  • Exhaust burbles
  • Cold start with CAT heating delete (racing/off-road use only)
  • Exhaust Flaps control
  • Speed limit removal
  • HP gauge and TQ gauge calibrated according to the power level
  • More options coming with the future updates
ALL future updates to the tune are FREE of cost. If we introduce a newer version, you won’t have to pay anything to get the upgrade

More technical information, description, dyno diagrams, user manual you can find directly on MG Flasher website or original MG Flasher B58 announcement thread

info@mgflasher.com

We are looking forward to your feedback. Thank you all so much for your consideration and taking the time to read this! We will keep up on maintaining this post with the newest and most relevant information for you all.

Huge potential with B48 F34 420i > 184 HP version

The improvement is amazing!

315HP 422NM BHP > stock car 194HP 280 NM measured by the dyno in Poland
Custom map flashed and logged using MG Flasher with only small hardware modification:
MG Motorsport exhaust
MG Motorsport downpipe

I've even sent MG an email to an existing thread with them about a week ago and haven't heard back. Perhaps they ran into issues and will be delayed for an unknown amount of time.

Currently there are no non-beta solutions available for home flashing. Celting Tuning has a package ready for the *30e cars, which surprisingly comes with a transmission flash as well, but is a "fire and forget" solution with no additional features outside of added power.

BM3 is in beta with unknown release date, MHD will have support "this year", anything else that I've missed outside of JB4/piggybacks?

A bit unclear what you're commenting on. It's correct that only beta is available for 30e, but this thread is about B48/B46 in general(?), and Bootmod3 is live (out of beta) with that.

Currently the only user flashable software for B48 is BM3, but not all cars where B48 is in use are supported at this stage. What I'm commenting on here is: Where is the MG B48 support at right now and if anyone else knows other available B48 tuning solutions as my google-fu is drawing a blank.

And just to add: In other discussions it has come to my attention that the internals between *20i, *30i and *30e are different, but spare parts for them all are "from" *30i to make parts supply easier. This means that there are rotating assembly differences between the engines and in long term we might see chipped *20i/*30e's deteriorate much more than the *30i's even though they'll make about the same amount of power once tuned.

As far as I know, internals for 20i and 30e are identical, it's the same engine.

Compression ratios are different and they have different pistons at least. I'll see if I can find more info on this.

The compression ratio and pistons are different between 20i and 30i, but not 20i and 30e.

My bad, read that incorrectly initially.

We have some unexpected delays.

Beta testing is still running all over the globe in different climate zones - we have very nice results so far!
Some draggy tests below, we will update you with more info soon.

Hi to everyone! Beta tester here. Jarek kindly allowed me to post here
My car is 330 xdrive and i have been testing st2 tune for couple of month now. Overall my impressions of using MG flasher platform are very positive. Since first flash i have no issues at all. Ive meet great response and support from Jarek! Thanks him a lot for his hard work and for turning my car into a beast! Performance and driveability are great. The car is much faster! Made a lot of dragy tests: 0-100 kph is always under 5 seconds using launch control. Jarek already posted 1\4 mile and 100-200 kph dragy data.
Here is dyno results. The graph is 330 + catless downpipe vs ST2 tune using RON 100 fuel
