Coding newbie breaks bluetooth! Help

I'm new to this coding, and done lots of lurking, youtubing, and googling...but I've still managed to cock it up!

I've got two problems:-

1. My brake sensor warning light can't be reset on the dash, saying Reset Not Possible. I can't find a way to clear this error, even though I've replaced the sensor and pads (I've even tried wiring the sensor out just in case my new ones bad!). This was my main reason for getting plugged in to the car.

2. Even more annoying, while I was plugged in and had E-SYS connected I thought I'd have a go at recoding my head unit to give me advance bluetooth... I now have a head unit with no bluetooth at all, no USB either, and thinks it's a Bang & Olufsen!... It's only a HU_ENTRY

Just to add insult to injury, I can't change it back. I set the FA code back from 6NK to the original 6NH, but I can't right click and 'CODE' the HU_ENTRY... there's no CAFD file under the HU, and the 'Detect CAF for SWE'. is greyed out

I've checked and I don't have a combox in the boot, if that helps

I'm using 3.28.1 that came with the cable I bought, and v.63.3 PSdZData_lite that came with it too. My car is a 2012 F30 320i

Please help me at least get my head unit doing what it used to do!...bluetooth phone and USB music! Anything more than this would be a bonus at this point.

If the brake sensor thing could be reset that would be a bonus!

I'll hang fire trying to upgrade my autobox at this point

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can't clear that with coding, you use an OBD diagnostic and repair tool.

With that you got the worst version of them all.
With the 3.28, the CAFD assignment works almost never.

Here you can download the 3.30.

https://mega.nz/file/UDBGVRIY#4c6l5z...jb6xkqjiaQW6uI

Try it again with this version.

Cool, I'll try that one, thanks! Is this version also token free?

Also, is there anything I need to make sure of with the PSdZData file?

If you want to FDL code (change of single values) something you need a token.
But for your problem (change VO and Code an ecu) you don't need a token or Launcher.

You can use your old psdzdata with it.

Still no luck with this!

I've used a newer version of the software (thanks atzebmw), and have been able to use the 'Detect CAF for SWE' which v3.28 wouldn't allow... but it comes up with 4 options... No worries me thinks, I'll just work my way though them until I find the right one... Nope! I've tried a couple of different version of setting in the FA coding 6NH (original), 6NS, 6NK, 6NL. At the moment I'd just like to restore the original functionality, but what ever I try I get a version of this...

And this...

Is it possible my copy of v.63.3 PSdZData_lite is fubar and causing this, or that I'm just doing it wrong?!

Also is there any way of finding out what the CAFD should be for me HU_entry

Any help would be very much appreciated!

That would be amazing! I need to sort out a suitable laptop for it. I'm using my work one at the moment, but would get shot for allowing a remote connection to it... if it would even allow it. I'll see if I can get my garage PC up and running quickly.

Thanks! I'll get back to you

I'm gonna take a left turn on this topic since its loosely related to a question I have about these cars. Sounds like I have the same radio set up you do in my '14. However, the car has NEVER recognized a plugged in iphone or whatever to the USB as a valid source of music. Is this working as intended? Is the USB plug only for mp3's saved to a thumb drive or something? Or is something messed up on our car?

Thanks anyone who can help

Mine always used to be able to play music off a usb stick, but never responded to music on the phone if plugged in the same way... might have done to an android phone with just MP3s on, but I never tried that. Now it doesn't even show USB as an option!

My phone however bluetoothed to the headunit fine for phone calls but nothing else. It now doesn't even do that

FUBARed it!

Big thanks to Wibbles, the problems are now sorted. He fixed my head unit in seconds but stayed on a good bit longer to help out with my brake sensor reset and poked in a little upgrade on my transmission too!

Thankyou Wibbles, this has taken a great load off my mind!
