Most Expensive Repair You Ever Had On Your F30???
What is the most expensive repair you ever had on your F30 (N20), and at how many miles?
I have continued to look into extended warranties and I just can't see spending another 15-20% of my purchase price to cover potential repair costs. |

The most expensive repair was a clutch replacement on an earlier 2014 F30. About 2700.00 if I recall correctly.

This is a great thread - i’m faced with coughing up over $6,000 to extend my warranty for 3 years and am having trouble figuring out if its worth it. Not a lot of issues out on the internet.

I don't think an extended warranty is worth it at $6k. You might as well take the hit of trading it in or selling it and then buying new again. $6k is too much - you have to be relatively certain you'll have a major component fail to make good on that warranty. |

They said it would be fine. 2 HPDEs later, it did not shift properly. I was able to document the error in ISTA and had a dash cam video of it not shifting correctly at an intersection. I went to another MD dealership, sent them the below YouTube link and mentioned there was already a PuMA case on the transmission in the past. |

Not in my ownership but the previous owner had the 8 speed replaced under warranty. No idea why, in my ownership I’ve had the steering rack replaced, cost was just under £3k.

Under warranty, my transmission was replaced for a bad 2nd gear synchro. That was about a $6500 bill to BMW (which is ridiculous of course).

Only repair:
My auxiliary radiator broke out when rock hit it on the freeway -- because there's virtually nothing to prevent anything much smaller than the size of a golf ball from going in there. Fucking retarded design. Cost me $750 to repair. Other than that the 17" Continental SSRs were complete and utter garbage -- noise and ride aside, the tramlining was so bad that I replaced them with only about 14K miles on them. |
