How to copy the NBT 2017 Map update

The Mac adds a few hidden files - open the drive in a Windows computer and delete those extra files - the BMW will then be able to "see" the map update.

I use app called BlueHarvest (mac app store) to clear any usb drives from mac metadata. Simple and effective.

Concur with using BlueHarvest. It strips out the hidden files that are probably causing your issue.

Were you able to copy the NEXT Europe 2017-2 the a 32Gb stick? Tried without luck last night...

32gb not gonna cut it.

The map is nearly 33gb in size:
32,825,270,115

32gb pendrive has the following space (before any filesystem):
32,027,770,880

So you need something larger, I would just get 64gb pendrive and call it a day.

I used my external 1tb hdd to update the map.

Saving the £14 there - manually deleting those extra files in a PC.

I have just updated NEXT Europe 2017-2 with 1TB external HDD using exFAT format. My "My Passport" drive has only NTFS or exFAT, so I used exFAT and it worked with no issues.

Great advice, this saved my evening, after reformatting and re-copying 3 times already and still not having the USB recognizes!

All good now, update running!

I previously used exFAT and it worked like a charm

and make sure you extract the files and copy the files to the usb

i believe ur usb port from car is locked for read anything. use bimmer code to unlock.
