I heard those dont work either. Not sure you read my post earlier, but i basically installed spacer but forgot to clear codes (young kids, so time to work on car is usually at night after everyones asleep).. Any point in trying again?

Clearing the code will never be a true fix sadly... Expect to clear the code every couple hundred miles.

I'm not sure about the JB4 anymore, but I know that flashing will be a solution to the issue.

EDIT: I think JB4 still works for your case. The n55 version of it is still not CARB legal.

Actually, i dont care about light, just need to pass yearly emissions. I think the catted dp would work on the emissions, but the light would be a problem. Thanks for the info!

Like I mentioned... Flashing or JB4 is your only solution. Those N55 O2 sensors are a lot more sensitive.

Also, try asking in the N55 subforum, not B58.

Thanks man. I wanted to update so others don't waste their time. I have tried the N55 forum, but apparently 2014 + N55s are more particular with fixing the CEL

Hmm, pricey but as long as it works. Thanks for the suggestion! You think it would work my particular year? Straight spacer wont work with my setup

So i drove the car with spacer. Was too tired to take it off. I think i drove about 25 miles and no CEL. Thought i was seeing things (more like not seeing things). Thank God! Checked the fault P0420 is cleared. Looks like the angled spacer did the trick. Thanks for all the great advice!

So i drove another 100 miles or so and checked the faults and i got the following:
Pending faults for P013A & P013B. I know this is a result of the angled spacer, but is this bad for the car? Thanks again

if your angled defouler isn't working for you, and it says that it's running too lean...can you maybe use a shorty defouler? or a shorter angled unit? some defoulers also come with a dime size nut that you can adjust the diameter of (drill out the middle to be larger or smaller). this might work for you as well.

your option may just be a tune. however,...does anyone know if the tunes actually turn OFF the o2 sensor (that's a BIG NO)? or does it just auto clear? if it auto clears...doesn't that still pull timing?

Usually it just ignores the reading and fools the ECU into thinking it's in a safe zone, so the car can operate based on the tune's parameters properly and still show sensor readiness in case of inspections.

Angled o2 spacer worked for me! It’s been about 1500 miles and no problems. Without the spacer I got a cel after just ~250 miles

The only spacer that works for me is the 42 draft design. I have the older model spacer and it never threw a cel on my 2016 GTI and current 2018 340i after i switched from the CG catted to vrsf catless.

It seems to be a newly designed so i cant speak for it since i have the original one: http://www.42draftdesigns.com/o2-sensor-spacer/

I'm confused a little, I have a 2013 335 xdrive which is n55 and have the p0420 code on. I've had a catless dp and jb4 installed for years and no issue or cel of any kind and then the light came on about 1 month ago. I had a bit of a rattle going on and when I finally was able to get under the car I noticed that the exhaust hanger mount in the mid section right after the flex part had snapped off (car is quite low on H&R springs). My first task is to fix the hanger mount so the exhaust is not moving around anymore. I've read that the 0420 code could also be cause by an exhaust leak, and wondering if possibly with the exhaust being slightly lose like that for a while is what is possibly causing the light to come on if indeed there is a small leak somewhere. I don't really have a good garage or place to work on my car anymore, besides taking it to a muffler shop if there is a leak I would assume having it welded would be the best and only option?
