Powder Coating in S. Florida
Hey guys, can anyone suggest a reasonably priced powder coater in the South Florida area? I had some wheels powder coated about 3 years ago for $64 per wheel, however that company is now under new management and asking an absurd $120 per wheel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That looks great! Gives the car a really clean look overall. I found a local place called Elite Powdercoating, they quoted me $100/wheel. I called about 8-10 places and they provided the best quote. I'll be sure to post pics once everything is done!

I run a fairly large powder coating operation in Canada, and although I do not dabble in automotive accessories like wheels anymore, I can tell you that a proper job will cost you a minimum of $150 per wheel (we would charge 200 per wheel Canadian). Any less and you aren’t receiving proper prep and you will end up paying twice in the future due to a failure of the new coating. Even worse, the guy mounting the new tire could have sheets of cured powder coat coming off. With the proper prep/process it should be virtually impossible to remove the new coating from the aluminum substrate.
Also, some of these fly by night guys don’t correctly mask the wheels so they actually fit over your hubs when you go to reinstall them. |
