Loss of my business to the dealership that did all of this repair work and was reimbursed by BMW NA (d/t the brake repair charges): priceless
Why didn't they cover the brakes? Mine are in the same shape at 30k miles and was expecting to not have to pay for this.

Rust. They didn't even measure the thickness of the discs or document that they did. They were so shot and needed replacement as the car was not safe to drive on the highway at speeds more than 55-60mph. They were also replaced before and the pads too more than once. They don't make 'em like they used to, just like the F30 isn't the 3-series it once was.

It has been good so far.
Did they replace your radio panel under warranty? I have the same issue and they wouldn't do it under warranty and that interior trim is not covered.

I had my thermostat replaced at 76k under the recall. My dealer refused to touch the radio button panel, saying I must've scratched it but I know I didn't. I get a parking lamp malfunction when it's really cold but moment it heats up it goes away. Car has been really solid.

2013 328i built October 2012, 43,000 miles. One problem with dropping Bluetooth connections, fixed with warranty radio replacement. Driver side tail light came partially loose, fixed under warranty. Insert on the trunk lid tag mount pulled out. I fixed that, too much trouble to take to the dealer. Immensely more reliable and fuel efficient than the C240 this car replaced. Zero drive train issues so far.

Car has 20,000 miles. Basically new, but figured I'd check in. The car is fairly well modified with a tune/suspension and all that since maybe 2000 or 3000 miles. Car has had 0 hiccups besides dropping bluetooth functionality every now and then.

2014 435i xDrive - 20,000km (12,000 miles)

Here's what I can remember at the moment:
  • Passenger and driver's Seatbelt arm "robot" failed
  • Front and rear pads and rotors (replaced after they started squeaking, hasn't come back)
  • Heater Blower (complete failure of part)
  • Air Conditioning Compressor
  • Horn (sounded like a clown car for a while)
  • Front shocks ; replaced after rattle due to apparant bad batch of EDC shocks where the gas would freeze in certain areas and cause noise
  • ASD Module replaced - wire was spliced/stripped for some reason and caused it to fail without errors registered - complained about lack of engine sound compared to my F10 in the cabin

Hopefully this is the last of the issues the car will have. The fun I've had driving it (and ragging on loaners) has definitely offset the frustration I've had with the unreliability.

2012 328i, 37k miles.

Various recall work, oil filter housing, something about a drain somewhere.

Driver seat leather squeaks, BMW refuses to repair as its a "non mechanical" wear issue. Funny how there is no wear to the seat, just awful noise unless I stuff a towel between the seat bottom and back. Bmw states "technical bulletin says to condition leather, that is the fix". BS!

Just in for leaking oil seal inside turbo, causing smokescreen upon start-up after sitting for more than a few hours.

A/C smells awful upon start up or activation when off. BMW says: "there is no fix for this, turn off AC 5 minutes before arrival at destination" !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Intermittent electronic squeal/humm from CD player/climate control unit. BMW not able to replicate customer complaint.

Steering wheel column noisey, lubricated under warranty.

When I had an Audi they took care of any complaint, basically just replaced any suspect part all the way through the CPO warranty period. BMW seems to want to dodge any and all warranty costs.

I am very curious about high millage issues considering my 2013 328i has over 103,000 miles on it. A little background: I have owned the car since it came off the lot and I have only had one issue with it so far other than standard services. It was something to do with some part of the car that warms the engine. It was stuck on, and had the potential apparently to cause the engine to overheat the dealership said. I think I paid something like 500 dollars for the repair. So, should I be expecting anything to break soon? It seems like a pretty sturdy little car.

I got a battery warning the other day that it is discharging when parked and the car is shutting off electronics. All electronics still worked. I lock upon exit and the keys are far away from the car. Spent 6hrs charging to full today and will see tomorrow if warning goes off...fingers crossed.

2014 BMW 428i Sport - CPO

Hi guys,

I am new but wanted to share my comments on my first BMW:

Purchased on 2/27. Car had 21,800 miles and was a local lease turn in. Its black on black with a ton of options including the HK stereo upgrade (which rocks).

On 2/28 the check engine light came on. Thats right within 24 hours of buying the car

The car drives like a dream and the engine was strong and no real issues to be noticed. I checked the gas cap and drove a few more days. No luck. I then purchased a code reader and found cat issues in zone 1 and 2.

Its now been in the shop for a week. They tell me no issues have been found but they are reprogramming the car.

I am in a 2016 535d loaner and missing my 428i coupe

I will keep you guys posted on what comes out of this. I really hope this is a simple fix as I 100% LOVE THIS CAR!

Thanks for posting. So:

Original cooling parts still?
Drive belt changed yet?
Has your N20 received walnut blasting?
Trans ever been serviced?
Still on original spark plugs?

Yes original cooling parts, never changed the drive belt, no walnut blasting, nothing has been done to the trans, the spark plugs have been changed either three or four times (can't remember) but this is typical.
