What was your deal, as good as Petes?

Have a look now what they are, a lot more.

My deal was a higher mileage than Pete - 10k a year rather than 8k.

I think it was 352 (inc) on a 9+23 basis

The excess miles on these deals are pretty high so the quote at a higher mileage worked out better than Pete's deal for me. My car is due in April, but it may be brought forward to March. If it's April 6th or later then the price per month will be about 」23 higher due to the VED change. I ordered a few days later than him.

It's certainly worth calling G2L to check if anyone has dropped out - I believe they had around 40 build slots. Select had some at 」469pm on a similar basis I believe.

Nice one! I had a mooch about the 840iGC that a dealer had when I got my X3M and it was lovely inside and out, makes the deal posted on the 540i look very expensive and no comparison looks wise inside or out for me.

Cheers. I saw it initially at 」535pm on a 9+23 and thought that looked pretty good, but then I found that the car can't carry bikes - no towbar or roof rack. The deal then dropped to around 」450pm and I started to investigate other ways of carrying bikes.

Unusually the actual G2L deal was better than the advertised one - at 」352pm it was just too good to resist. I'm going to rely on suction pads to hold the bikes...

While the M340i would be a better size for me, I can't resist a bargain!

I did have a look at an 8er in the dealer this weekend too. Lovely. But it doesn't quite make sense as the main family car / load lugger / part time school run tool. Also a little bit too bling for me. But I see the appeal if it fits someone's lifestyle.

That sounds an excellent deal, well done sir!

Have you added any options or, as it's a relatively short-term lease, just stuck with standard (and admittedly high!) spec?

Remember I bought mine when the deals were good, so an e53 estate was about the same price (with a few extras inc premium pack).

No competition for me - even if an estate would have been more sensible....

Cheers. I have left it as standard. I really wanted a heated steering wheel, but these new option packs would make that a 」2,100 option so it looks like I'll have cold hands!

I will probably try and extend the lease once I get close to the end if I can do it at anything like the ongoing payment. 2 years is a bit on the short side, particularly as I will need a set of winter wheels.

It's a wonderful place.

I had drive the deal on the phone with a price for a FFRR Autobiography earlier as expected, way out of my league. But the call would not even have taken place without Bimmerpost!

I hadn't realised you'd ordered the 8GC. Superb, that's some car for the money actually, it's some car full stop.

It might appear to be an escalation but, if I'm reading his post correctly, JD6 is going to be paying 32 months at 」352 (so 」11.3k in total) to drive an 8GC for two years. I might well have missed a special offer somewhere but I don't think you can get a new M340i for that....

Given how little the lease is costing you'll have plenty of cash left over for a pair or two of designer driving gloves (if there is such a thing!).

Stunning amount of car for the money, just goes to show what you can get if you're prepared to be a little bit flexible about what you want and are able to move quickly when the deals come along. Sadly the 8GC is too big for me - and not especially good for the dogs either - so I'll have to pass on this one....

That's correct, although if the car isn't registered before April 6th, there will be an additional 」750 for the new VED banding (it jumps from 168 to 196 g/km in the real-world testing). There is also a 」198 broker fee, but in the spirit of man maths we'll ignore that!

How do they even make money on these cars....?!?! Depreciation alone will be way more than the cost of a lease of 2 years......the car will depreciate 」30k - 」40k in 2 years I would thought?!

It makes absolutely no sense to me. Even if they can get these 」70k list cars for say 」45k, the 」11-12k total lease cost has to cover 2 years of depreciation, vehicle tax of 」1-2k (since that’s included), and still leave a profit margin. The car would have to only depreciate by about 」7k over 2 years for this to work. It probably loses that much in the first week!

I do wonder if I’ll get a call at some point to say the order has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances...

If you look on Piston Heads a few said they'd been told the deals wouldn't be honoured due to a mistake with GFV. This has to be how these deals exist.

But, it doesn't mean a few won't sneak through I guess. Fingers crossed.

I nearly bought an A8 once and the dealer took away 」8k of the discount in 24 hours when I went home to rubber stamp with the wife.

If they do take your deal away, there'll be a big sense of disappointment and the cars available at the same price will seem pretty underwhelming.

All of the recent posts on that thread (on the PH BMW General board) seem to be people who have deals going ahead with G2L as far as I have seen. I believe that Select have failed to honour the deals, but somehow 39 (I believe) have got through with G2L

I’m told that my car has been ordered from Williams and should be with me in April, or perhaps March if I’m lucky. I don’t have confirmation from the dealer though - just G2L so we’ll see if they stick to their word.

I would be prepared to pay more for the right car if necessary - I was really aiming for an F90, but the deals were poor. I’ll probably revert to looking at an M340i / 540i / X3 M40d if this one vanishes.

Hope it comes through for you. These sort of deals give us all hope and show the value in being flexible and willing to make a very quick decision.

Leasys made a mistake but G2L were fighting them back to honour the deals. Those 39 people got their cars. Select customers not so lucky. James from G2L sent me an email saying this is by far cheapest deal he has ever seen on 70k car. Deals like this do happen , you have to be lucky I guess.
I have had S8 for 500 a month!😉

Sounds like its going through to me - my car was from Williams in Stockport and they looked after me well so hopefully all will be plain sailing from here on in....
