I have had S8 for 500 a month!😉
You do have to be lucky.

This seems a bit different to the S8 deals though. This one seems like a mistake, on a newly released model.

The S8 deals were around for some time, they seemed intentional. Saw one yesterday and still one of my favourite ever cars.

I just heard back from the dealer who was offering the 27% discount on the 540i. For 10k mileage with the packs and options I mentioned earlier:

£0 deposit 47 x £623.18 GFV £20,044
£1800 deposit 47 x £581.88 GFV £20,044

So a fair bit better than the GFV from earlier in the thread.

I've also emailed Tony Lewis today to see if he can do better than 19% on an m340i.

That feels expensive based on a relatively decent gfv and the cracking discount. What's the list price and interest rate?

Remember it's a Touring so a bit more than saloon in first place, with about 5 grand's worth of options. So then it's ~£60600 list, £44300 offer, so £16300 discount (26.9%). Interest is 3.9%.

It's a bit better than I got a year back, and at the time I thought I'd done pretty well, so I'd be happy with that.

How are you enjoying it? I think the main thing holding me back is that it visually I find it a bit underwhelming, and I worry it won't feel special for as long as something like the M340i, especially with the LCI on the way. On the other hand, I always remind myself that you sit inside not outside, and that it will probably feel more special inside for longer!

Bryans69 that is a sharp looking car. Wish they sold the Touring over here in the States.

Inside is what will make it feel special long term, more than backward car Park glances. Biased, me??

Be interested to see what trl is currently doing on the m340s. My local dealer again said about a price rise come 1st april but then they want me to order now.

I think it would be worth waiting for the LCI 5 series is out and what deals are then as the 340s hadn't been out long and stonking deals were to be had.

Price rises are coming, minimal, along with the VED rise is April.

Thanks. IMO definitely looks better than the saloon, but I think that can be said for a few cars currently

Loving it. I think it looks better then the 3 touring, although I think not quite as good as a decent spec A6 if I'm honest. But I also think the A4 Avant is better looking than a 3 series touring.

As a package it ticks all the boxes. I'm not into SUVs (although I did for a while get sucked into the marketing and look at an X3), and can't think of anything else I'd take at this point in time. I've awife and two kids, and it will quite happily take us and a ton of camping kit / body board / bikes etc etc across the country in comfort, yet be a bit of fun on the off chance I'm in it on a decent road on my own.

Some great deals on the 5 series right now, not sure that will change with the LCI.

LCI brings I drive 7 which many look at as a plus, some not convinced. I was tempted to wait for the 545e which I think will be a cracking car but no real idea when that might be launched.

Depends on your needs but all great cars and the OP has a great deal on the table.

The GFV is better because my quote was double the miles. GFV's don't change from dealer to dealer, they're all calculated the same across all dealerships, same as the APR and the mileage adjustment. Only difference can be what the dealer is willing to discount.

The salesman did message me back again and got it down a bit further, £622, with £1k deposit and still 20k mileage per annum.

GFV's are still quite a bit out, which is why X3 M40's come out roughly £100 cheaper a month even when original list is similar and discount in fact slightly less.

Tony L just emailed me back. Not sure of etiquette but since he is not posting his m340i deals at the moment I won't do it here. But suffice to say it's not a huge difference in discount to what we've seen elsewhere, plus the window for a stock car is shrinking and I wanted a factory build with a particular spec which will fall the wrong side of the price increase in April. Feels like the universe is telling me either to go 540i, or sit tight and wait until later in the year. Might be too hyped up now to do the second one!

Remember as well as price rises and tax rates all manufacturers will be cutting availability of the larger engines to try and meet the Co2 targets, I think the 545e if they release it here would be a good shout although I'd dive in now if there is a stonking deal to be done.

Apparently the 545e is coming here to replace the 530e, that should be a cracking car with 400bhp.. I was tempted to wait for that over the X5 version I have on order, although they could confirm it was coming to the UK they couldn't confirm when!

I have never really understood the approach of companies like BMW to price rises. As of today they find themselves having to discount their cars by 20-30% in order to sell the volume that they wish to. If they raise their prices, they are clearly going to have to discount more to maintain that sales volume.

It makes no sense at all to me to raise prices when they can't sell them for anything like the current prices. I suspect it's more of a sales tool to apply pressure.

If you're genuinely indifferent between the M340i and 540i there's no doubt the financials favour the latter at the moment. If you want to buy outright the higher level of discount means a net price that might well be lower than a good spec M340i, if you want to PCP that net price combined with a higher GFV and lower rate finance means cheaper monthlies. However, if what you really want is an M340i then arguably all that counts for nothing - something only you can decide though!

Mmm is 545e is B58 + Leccy stuff like the X5 45e? That would be very very nice wrapped in an LCI suit.
