F30 Paddle Shifter Retrofit Issue
Guys,
After retrofitting the a sport wheel with paddles (using Kies and Thic F30 as reference), coded the paddles via bimmercode and they still don't work. I'm at a loss as to what to try now. Any ideas? Do paddles go bad? |

This. Process of elimination at this point. First check that you are even wired for paddles. Kies shows you how to check in his retrofit videos. If you wired them yourself, check it was done correctly. If the wiring is correct then the only possible problem is the circuits/wires on the paddles themselves. I had one malfunction because it was outputting the wrong impedance so the car was treating both paddles as downshift. Maybe yours is faulty on both? I think more likely though is the wiring itself.

Fixed!
First - Thank you guys for your help! I took the wheel back off (FYI - A Pick tool is a lifesaver when it comes to removing the airbag from the Sportline wheel. After removing the wheel, I checked all connections and found that the connection from the steering wheel controls into the column control section was not clicked in. Got it all re-installed and works like a charm!
Also - I did have to wire it myself. The whole thing was a process, but between the forum and youtube, I was able to get it done. Again - thank you guys for your help! |
