If you get to the end, the process is identical if you want it to be, you can just hand back on a lease or a pcp.

The only advantage I can see is price, sometimes lease is cheaper, sometimes pcp is, so in my opinion, just go with whatever the best deal is for the car you want.

Agree it's not a solution for the OP, more a view of a different approach to the next 24/36/48 month 'deal' or 'ownership'.

Some merit to being honest with mileage and just picking one of the bargain 24 deals that pop up.

Which again doesn't add flexibility. You don't always know in advance when you're going to want to change. And apart from a few offers on specific cars, 24 month leases are often expensive.
