Really its the ultimate forum shut down, what can you have that's not in the Ultimate package. Surely nothing.

Well ok, some M Performance Parts of course.
You won't believe it, but the first carwow quote I did a few weeks back was for the X7 ultimate package

Discount was about £3k max (off the car!). I had been kind of hoping for a crazy BMW style 27% or something!

Tech package comes for free in the deal and I'm wondering (if I bought one) whether to add the premium package as this adds a few things that the Discovery has as standard that I've got used to. That, plus privacy glass, would be the lot.

I can safely say that you don't need any other options on it. Yes, bits are nice to have, but it's a really nice place to be in pretty basic trim - much like the new 3 series in MSport doesn't really need any extras on it, it's got all the right bits as standard.
I'm looking to change. part of me says to go for a year old 520d Msport (touring or saloon) for ~£24k. Part of me says a new 530d at £33k is just a ridiculously good deal, and get that instead
Equally you dont need a 5 series. Or a BMW. Possibly even a car. If you are going to do it, do it in style....

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys, still not had chance to go and have a look. Bowkers called on Friday to book the car in for end of warranty check and mot, plus I'm 6k short on mileage for an included service so going forward I'm going to have to factor in cost of warranty and servicing, will BMW contact me with regard to extending warranty? Any ball park figures of costs?

If you go to

https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Start

then you'll be able to put in the cover, excess, whether you want emergency service, etc. and get a price

So the dilemma has now taken another twist, my guy from Bowker has called and now tells me they have a similar deal available on the G20 320i M Sport +, so going to have a proper look next Tuesday when mine is in. Had one for a couple of days last year and really enjoyed it, given my mileage has diminished considerably might make sense.

Grey. Like all BMWs.

Looks very nice OP, hope that you are very happy with it. I am assuming a 320i as that seemed to be the last option that cropped up, and its not a 5 series...

Yep, 320i M Sport +, decided the 5 was too big, this seems a massive step up from the F30. Plenty of kit, just have to fork out £265 for the CarPlay but might hang on for a while.

Thanks, really wanted to like the Portimao blue one but went right off it, can't go wrong with Mineral Grey. Going to be a lot of tech to get used to, really like the auto hold function.

And I've just noticed it's on Pirelli RFT's, are they any better/worse than the Bridgestone?

Almost certainly better; Bridgestone have the reputation for being the worst of the run-flats BMW fit!

Auto Hold
Parking Sensors coming on automatically as you approach something front and rear.

Lovely features the new cars have that used to be 7,6,5,X5 territory. Makes it all luxurious and simple.

Thanks, Bronco, I was a little unsure about the all black grills, that's why I was considering the blue 320d but realised I can't see them when I'm in it!!

I’m not a fan of the black grilles but they look good with the mineral grey.

There’s a blue one local to me with the black grills and I just can’t get on with it.
