A very touching story
Just read this in the Independant.
A very touching story. Remarkable these days to have something like this happen, what with pre defined slots for take off and airport charges etc. A very thoughtful pilot. Must admit it got a bit dusty in here reading this. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a6979866.html |

While it is a very touching story, it has been dramatised somewhat by the press and doesn't sound like there is anything particularly special here to be honest.
Taxiing aircraft return to stand quite often for one reason or another. All anyone really has to do is say they don't feel fit to fly and the pilot would probably opt to return while still on the ground. Had this have happened after take off it would have been a little more unusual and I'd say it probably wouldn't have happened at all. The fact that the airline are reportedly letting the couple re-use their tickets comes as more of a surprise. Oh and for the record 'Mrs Stephenson', aircraft don't generally taxi on the runway, that's why airports have taxiways Last edited by workshybum; 04-12-2016 at 05:36 PM.. |
