335i M Sport w/Tech, Prem, DHP, Paddles, HK...what else?
Instead of waiting for the 435i Gran Coupe I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on a 335i. Down the rabbit hole I go...
I just returned from my local dealer. In October I drove a 335i xDrive MSport configured how I like. Today I wanted to drive a 328i just to compare. In my book (using the butt dyno), there is no comparison between the 4 and 6. My wife agreed. To each their own. So after searching inventory nationwide, they slotted one of their current allocations for my custom order with an initial config. I have a few days to finalize options, and am wanting to make sure I cover everything. Care to help out? Throw in your two cents? Please chime in with any options you would choose and why. 2014 335i xDrive (Glacier Silver / Black) ZMM M Sport - (3DZ without lines, 4AB wood trim, 4DM trim pearl gloss chrome) ZDH Dynamic Handling Package ZPP Premium Package - (LCSW Black Dakota Leather) ZTP Technology Package Options -2TB Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles -494 Heated front seats -688 Harman Kardon surround sound system Is the M Sport grill the same as the Sport line? Which one has the more angled gills? I'd like to add that to my order. Any help is greatly appreciated. Last edited by BimmerQuest; 04-16-2014 at 09:17 PM.. |

The M-Sport front end is very different from the others. It has the large openings on the bottom for increased cooling and IMO looks much more aggressive (and better) than the other trim lines. In fact if you go with Glacier Silver I think you should add the black kidney grilles, they look great on white cars.

I actually like the Heads Up display much more than I thought I would. I got pretty much everything except HK. Once you have things in other cars it is hard to give them up. I also love the 403 wheels, I was going to use the stock 18's (if my car came with stock wheels) for winter, now I will keep the 19's and buy dedicated winters instead. |

Make sure you get the heated steering wheel!
I did not get the M brakes on my 2013 335xi M-Sport, wish I did...also backup camera or parking sensors... I run a set of dedicated winter tires (Michelin X-Ice3 non-run flat) 18" in square setup. I have the 19" staggered for summer. However, I'm in Canada and you'd be nuts to run all-season tires! Go oft it! M-Sport is it! |

Cold weather package is only a little more than heated seats and you get a heated steering wheel which I use often.
Heads up display is a great feature I have grown to love. Navi is necessary so do the tech package. Wish I did the backup camera. While you are at it consider the MPPK. |

Yeah the cold weather package gives your rear passengers the joy of heated seats as well as the awesome heated steering wheel...which I had to use today...in mid April, and the absolutely useless headlight washers.
My only regret is not getting the M Sport brakes...which one would think would be standard on an "M-Sport" trim line. |

Backup camera is looking like a real possibility. MPPK - I’ve thought a lot about it, especially because I just can’t bring myself to pull the trigger on a C7 Stingray. The 335 is my "compromise" (AWD + 4 doors), so why not add all the power bits? But after driving one today I’m not sure I need the MPPK. In fact, I think I’ll get into enough trouble with the stock 335. I’m open to adding this later (port?)… |

For now at least in America anyway you can't get this package on an F30.

I just picked up my 335xi on Friday and have a post here on the vehicle options I chose to order. I must say all of the options I got, so far after only a few days I guess, I dont regret any of them. Maybe that will change over time but some things I am 100% on were:
1) MPPK: This is port installed and comes with the confidence of being installed essentially at the factory as the port is considered an extension of the factory 2) Black grilles: same as above, and quite inexpensive 3) NAV with BMW apps 4) Window shades......$500 and worth every penny 5) I would question DHP, unless you drove a car with it back to back with one without, I dont miss this at all. Save $1000 6) M Sport brakes.....no brainer for $650.....better calipers and bigger rotors. 7) Backup camera/parking sensors.....this option rocks big time. I would not get the around car cameras....seems like a waste 8) If they ever offer the blind spot monitor by itself get that.....it was part of a huge annoying package when I ordered, I didnt want the extra crap, but I would have liked the blind spot monitors |

DHP is key for xdrive or else there is no sport suspension
OP, if you get the leather, how about a two tone interior, if possible on the M sport? Personally, I think if its black leather, might as well go vinyl I like the tech package.. really improves the cabin to have the navi, bmw apps and hud |

My biggest regret was not having the rear camera on my 435, only way for me to get it around here in the color I wanted was to order or buy a fully loaded one in order to get my must have's: M Performance, DHP (must have for me with xDrive), Cold Weather, Premium Pkg. and H/K.
I'll probably end up going to BimmerTech for the rear camera and pay a lot more as a result. |

Buy all the options you think you might want, otherwise it will be significantly more expensive down the line.
