To route the inflation bulb i removed it and then threaded the tube out of the underside of the seat and up the side to it's current location. Whole job including chopping down the backing and cable ties etc only took about 30 mins. Hope it helps. Cheers. ps apologies if the pics are side on. i set them all to the correct rotation but for whatever reason they kept being flipped onto their side! |

Thanks for the photos and the tip regarding B&Q chopping mats. I've already bought the inflatable bladder - just need to get round to installing it.
What's the method/knack for removing the seat back ?

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...lumbar+support There are two pins at the bottom of the seat back. Pull the centre pin out of the retaining plugs and they should then pull out. Pull the bottom of the seat back out and then pull down as the top of the seat back has two hooks. (see pic). Hope this helps. Last edited by sensible; 04-12-2019 at 11:02 AM.. |

[QUOTE=sensible;24580025]I used that one and it is an ideal size. You don't have to inflate it much to give a good level of support. Mine works perfect.
I also used this one. It's been in there for over 3 years. Works great. |

Hi, does it help now you have fitted it? Has it alleviated your back pain somewhat? I drove for 2 hours and then 2.5 hours back about 3 weeks ago and was in pain afterwards for a few days. On holiday in a mk7 Golf, back and neck was fine (it haD lumbar support)
Also do you need to declare to your insurer? And if I do this would i be best to wait until out of warrany (enD jun) |

Finally got round to installing the single cell lumbar support into my driver's seat. I used a flexible cutting mat (Amazon), cut to size, as a backing.
It makes a nice difference and has plenty of inflation capacity in reserve.

I've just order the lumber supports.
I've gone mad and bought 2. I know, I'm too good to my missus! I'm hoping this will mean less earache when I table the remap..... |

Fitted these today one on each front seat. Took no more than 30 minutes the pair. Very easy to do. Very good value mod with very good improvement to seat comfort.
Highly recommended. |

easy
Thanks for the guide. Took me 5 mins prep & 5 mins to install.
I got the three element bladder and went to Argos for the flexible board. It works for me, my back and shoulder pain is gone. Just need to refine the seating position over time. |

Have any of you that have fitted these also got heated seats?
I'm tempted to do this on my wifes F30 as she suffers from lower back pain. However, I'm a little concerned that inserting the inflatable pad and the PVC covers could impair the heated seats. Is it obvious where the lumbar pad goes? Cheers in advance! |

It's pretty logical where to place the bladder - directly in front of the spring-located wire frame which forms the support in the back of the seat. Releasing the springs on one side makes it much easier to insert the bladder. They are quite strong - needs a bit of force.
