Diff failing?
"I AM HERE AGAIN ASKING FOR FREE ADVICE" (Bernie sanders voice). All jokes aside. My girlfriends 2007 328xi with 133k miles on the car. for a while now when we are going slow and making turns there is a strange noise coming from the rear. It doesn't sound metallic at all, it actually almost sounds like my rear tires are skipping or rubbing. Upon review the inners of both tires are much more worn then the outside , which I know a little is normal. I've seen a few posts about this and people say it's the dif and needs a fluid change, but nobodies situation matched mine quite right. Has anyone dealt with this before? I also notice some creaking noises from the rear as well when putting the car in reverse and going over bumps. My girlfriend drives pretty far for work everyday so she is pretty worrisome about driving the car without knowing what it may be. Stealership and Indys want a lot for diagnostics

If you jack up the rear, you can try spinning each tire. Normally, spin one forward, the other should spin backwards and vice versa. You can see if it sounds "weird" or is binding.

Just noting ... this is the wrong forum! 2007 must be an E model... this forum is for the newer F models... 2011-2019

What type of sounds were you experiencing? Where they sounds of a tire skipping, or rubbing? I'll definitely take a look at those also. I do believe the one bushing that goes into the chassis-the ine that you adjust camber with- I believe has gone bad, as it looks a little cracked, just hoping that's the cause of the rubbing noise as well as the creaking

Oh wow! I'm so sorry! Didn't even realize! I also own a 2015 335xi so I'm usually in THIS forum. Must've been habitual! Do you, by chance know how to move a thread?
