New pads and rotors for 2013 328i

Hey guys,

I am in dire need of getting all my pads/rotors replaced. I have the OEM ones on right now. I just do daily driving, around 70 miles a day. I did see the Power Stop z23 brake kit that's an acceptable price, but I don't know how good they are. I was satisfied with the OEM ones, but they are a bit more expensive.

Also my version is the 2013 328i with a sports package (not M package or anythin like that, I think I just get the sport+ option)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What's your budget for repairing brakes?

If rotors, pads, and even calipers have to be replaced, M Performance brake kit may be an option for you - especially if it's a slightly used set from a totaled vehicle.

Hey guys I really appreciate your replies. I don't think new calipers were needed. I actually went ahead and got a kit of Brembo (Part Number: P06075N) from Autozone for $380 which was around my budget. I will be installing them next week.

Hopefully these will do the job.

Nice choice. Ill be in the same situation soon enough... What did you choose for Rotors or arent you replacing? What about brake sensors?

Keep us posted on your review of that part number. I always shy towards OEM but am open to aftermarket for cost savings as long as noise, vibration, performance aren't compromised.

How many miles on your original brakes?

I would assume those Brembo pads are legit. Please share the other part numbers you are using.

So my original brakes had 100K miles on them, so they are pretty much done.

I am buying pads and rotors for the front and back. I didn't buy sensors as I wasn't sure if they will be needed. Do you think I will need them with 100K miles?

Here are all the parts numbers:

Brembo Brake Pads- Front : P06075N
Brembo Brake Pads- Rear : P06071N
Brembo Brake Rotor- Front : 09B33721
Brembo Brake Rotor- Rear : 34216764651B

From what I read this is a new Economy line Brembo has going, which is what I need as I just do casual driving.

Others may have different opinions, but I always replace sensors when I replace rotors. I tend to replace rotors every 2nd pad change.

Good stuff. Im only at 58k and hoping to get much closer to 100k before I swap but these are definitely on my radar now...

I know Brembo opened a foundry in Michigan not too long ago... I wonder if they are able to make products for the US Market a bit cheaper than those coming from overseas. Regardless, I would have to believe those are quality pads/rotors and definitely put them on my car.

Keep us posted on how you like them after a while.

Are you doing the work yourself?

Also - I believe you are supposed to change sensors each brake job but may not be completely necessary to install on all four corners... one per axle would be a good idea though... Not sure how many the system is looking for without throwing and error...

There is only one sensor per axle.

Thanks for clearing that up. Never done the brakes on this car and wasnt putting it past BMW to have a sensor on each wheel communicating.

These cant be expensive, so no reason not to replace then.

Wondering what side it goes on and what the iDrive brake reset procedure is. Assuming theres a DIY on here somewhere.

That's cool, I went and bought sensors as well. I will let you guys know how everything goes when I get them installed next week. I am having a friend install them for cheap.

Hey guys,

Just a quick update. I put in the new rotors, pads, and sensors. I actually cancelled my Autozone order and got the same ones from Ebay for $30 cheaper. Autozone was out of stock and was going to push it another 2 weeks.

Anyway, so far so good. The only issue I had was that the rotors are a bit deeper, so that caused it to touch the protection plate behind the rotor and make a very scary sound. All I had to do was bend that plate a little bit by hand and I was good to go.

I will let you know if I have any issues.
