Link this as I'm curious. Swapping the strips is what allows me to have them super bright and not seem useless

Ordered the AmbientModz inserts from the UK on June 27 and rcv'd today (July 7). Installed and worth every penny. I had a concern that during daylight the plastic insert would be a tad more visible than I prefer. Problem solved to my satisfaction by placing the insert deeper into the groove. There is some "play" there which allows you to make the lighting (inserts) more or less visible. I would rather see slightly less orange during the evening than more white plastic during the day.
I believe the average person (dare I say even a BMW owner) wouldn't notice the white plastic during the day, and after a short while I won't either ... we'll see. Did you have, or do you need, the ambient light package before installation? We had it in a loaner during an oil change and I loved it. Had like 7 or 8 pre set colors to choose from. Alas the car we own does not have it. 2018 330i xdrive. |

Well now I know what I bought really works! I have the same light pkg you have. I didn’t swap out the lights, I just covered them with the plastic inserts (flexible, not hard 3D printed) from AmbientModz. I believe what I bought for my car (2018 440i Convert) works on your car as well.

Yes you need the ambient lighting package these are clear "tubes" that focus the light. F series cars just have 2 colors amber and white. G series cars have multiple colors. There are Chinese 8/9 color aftermarket retrofits for the F series cars but still need OEM ambient lighting.

Thanks. Sad days when you see options on other cars lol. Buddy at work has some package that gives him screens in his rear and rear side windows that go up and down. |
