assuming you'll be replacing in the same sized 225/50/17?
i'd mostly follow the tirerack ratings chart however i would NOT get a directional tire(for best tire rotation options) and have brand preferences from previous experience. along with it's wet/dry performance, for me, it has to have a high comfort (noise/ride) rating. i notice you're in NJ and you may want it to work in light snow. i also consider the shoulder tread and overall tread pattern, and if i think it will start to get noisy as it wears down. from the choices on TR, i like michelin pilot sport as3+, continental extremecontact dws 06, or general gmax as-05(bang for buck) and pirelli pzero a/s+ or cooper zeon rs3-g1 if light snow capability is not needed. |
