3. Coding is required (marius76, http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=44)

If someone could provide details for #2 and #3, that would be great
Hi

I am new to this forum and new to BMW too. I have a 2015 preLCI 328iX US model with Halogen headlights ... looking for a Adaptive LED OEM retrofit ... what could be the total cost for this and any vendors who provide this

Regards,
Kishore.

Can anyone who has done this retrofit confirm if the lights have vertical/horizontal adjustment? I have a 2016 340i (LCI) with these LED headlights and they auto level upon startup. However, I still feel like the light is too low and narrow! Any ideas?

I went from halogens to LCI non-adaptive LEDs. Still have a few kinks to work out but it seems to be working. It even has the leveling on start up

Fantastic effort!

What types of kinks do you have left?

I have vertical aim somewhat working but no horizontal aim (I don't have adaptive LED). See image below. Perhaps this is simply the standard with LCI LED?

Working with marius76 to fix some error messages. Also working on getting leveling to work correctly. The beam seems to be too low. Image below shows process after engine on, then turning on the high beams.

I figured it out. You remove the center section on the white caps and it exposes the horizontal adjustment. It doesn't really change that much. Not as dramatic as the vertical adjustment.

Check here for more info.

If you don't have the adaptive headlights you won't get the horizontal functions. The retrofitted lights being posted here are the adaptive versions. I can't speak for the regular LEDs but the US spec coding on these lights isn't that great. The euro coding is much better.

Turn off the engine, get out of the car, and lock the doors. Wait 30 seconds. Then unlock the car. Do the headlights turn on for 1-2 seconds (then go off)? Or do they not come on at all?

Which lights did you install? Adaptive LED? Have you loaded E-sys? Does it recognize each of the front FLE ECUs? I'm assuming adding to the VO and VO coding FEM and the FLEs would be necessary. Do you have KAFAS or FLA camera on your car?

Probably can help more once we know these things. FWIW I have never retrofitted this but these will be some pretty basic coding changes that would be required.

I tried seceral times with a friend he can work with e-sys. But it's seems like the car don't recognize the light and powered them.

I fitted the adaptive led on the car. But the car had already adaptive xenons with the high beam assisted.

So I don't no what I have to code ...

What ECUs are recognized in E-Sys? Need to determine if it will even recognize the lights to confirm they are connected properly. There is also a teach in process via Rheingold that BMW says should be run when headlights are replaced. All of these are good places to start. Unfortunately without this kind of information we don't really have a chance at helping you out. Just "they don't work" and "a friend tried ESys" won't get us anywhere. Not trying to be terse but there just isn't enough information and troubleshooting to make progress.

Yes, I can make such harness

Does anyone sell a coding package? I've never done coding in any car and have no knowledge of how to do so.

coding can be done remotely. You will just need decent laptop with wifi and ethernet coding cable.

I have read this whole thread and checked out the costing. Am I missing something? BMW quoted me £1700 to remover my Halogen and installed OEM Xenons?

Surely with all this cost, it would be worth going OEM?
