Fault 440101 xDrive

Goodmorning,
my mechanic has in his workshop a f31 320d xDrive from 2014 which has the fault 440101 Transfer box (VTG) End of transmission service life reached.
He checked the VTG ratio and the rear diff and are both at 2.81.
Clutch pack of xDrive are fine.
Mechanically is everything okay but he couldn't delete the error.
Any solution?

I'm not an expert and I don't really know if there's such option, but maybe try to register first that he installed a new transfer box (without actually replacing it). This way, the ECU will reset the value and then delete the code. Something similar with what you do when DPF is clogged, but you just clean it and register that you put a new one.

Problem solved coding the DSC and another ECU (I forgot the name, sorry, but is not the VTG).

Merlino, could you explain this better please. I'm getting the same error and the car seems mechanical great. I'm thinking its a electrical issue. I'm getting a flexray issue as well.
So your saying to code thr DSC and something else?

Thanks.
