Valve Cover Gasket Help

2012 F30 335i Sedan.
in 2019 I did the Valve cover and Gasket.
I think I replaced the original Valve cover with a Viaco Brand Valve Cover.
I replaced the Valve cover so the PCV Valve would be new also.
All Installed by myself, and had no issues except some oil burning off for the first month. No Issues after this.
Bought everything from ECS Tuning.

Now recently the Gasket has started to leak again.
But thinking that it shouldn't, not within 2.5 years. and maybe 40K km not miles.
So, Not sure If should replace the gasket only, which I do have a complete set of, made by O-ring from ECS Tuning. They just sent it by mistake in 2019.
or replace with a better brand Valve Cover.
Not planning on keeping the car beyond summer 2023.

What Brands do you recommend other genuine BMW OEM?

Thanks in advance.

You can try re-torquing or tightening all the bolts if you just have a tiny leak at the gasket. That works for some people, especially if they have just came a little loose from a prior replacement.

Did you have to add any type of gasket sealer to the gasket before setting everything back? Reason I ask is because I’m about to change my engine valve cover because I found a small crack in it.

No sealer. Just make sure the surface is clean.

Great Question - Which brand of aftermarket VC

Since you are not keeping the car.
.
.
Due to the PCV being part of the VC -- I will be going OEM from FCP when I am faced with this. Mahle being the OEM supplier -- which I can't find.
.
.
I do think that with most aftermarket parts they are subject to radon defects at a higher rate per 1000 but for your purposes I would just go to ECS Tuning and get an assembled aftermarket kit and call it a day. E-bay would be cheaper.

Good Luck.

Guys Thanks for the advise.
I had a Oring gasket from ECS and I just installed it and it's been a month now and no leaks.... not even on day one, which I was expecting.

Thank you all....learned a bit on this gasket from this thread.
