Labor hours for a HPFP?

Gents,

How many hours of labor should an HPFP install cost?

Is there a difference between using an oem supra pump Vs an aftermarket?

Thanks!

I did it myself in a school parking lot in 30 minutes. Dorch stage 2. If you have any wrenching chops I'd recommend doing it yourself, I could see a shop charging 1-2 hours easily.

Very easy to do, shouldn't take more than an hour.

Yes, you will need to hit the config on the map file itself and select the correct HPFP from the drop down list.

I know the owner of an auto shop. Whenever I told him I had the TU HPFP he literally installed it in 5-10 minutes. Not even joking. I was so damn surprised his hands moved like that. It's not a hard job at all if you have the tools. $50-$100 is reasonable for installation. Anything more you're being upsold

I believe that for the TU Pump no need for updating your tune, for any others like Dorch or Spool then yes.

There's more to remove and replace than replacing the pump itself. Once you clear the way, it's 4 nuts and a 17mm wrench, then the two torx to pull the pump. I watched kern's video, then swapped it out in the garage.

Would also recommend getting a inch/lb torque wrench, like a bike repair one. The torx bolts for the pump need 11lb/ft I think and are really easy to snap if you don't have a torque wrench that is much lower. I snapped one of mine but got lucky there was enough sticking out for me to use a clamp to get out.

A shop that did my Supra HPFP said it was pretty easy so I'm assuming quick. I'm a novice when it comes to installing things so when i installed my Dorch Stage 2 it look about 4 hours, only because I got stuck forever fitting the damn HPFP and LPFP in. If I didn't get stuck probably woulda saved about 2 hours.

I received quotes though from 2 shops for HPFP install and it was about 300 each (3ish hours)
