Fabspeed owners, how many miles are on your downpipe? Given that they start at only 200cell or whatever the rating units are, and that the catalyst material wears down over time, I'm wondering what a reasonable lifespan is before it starts to fall below minimum efficiency and throw a check engine light.

I'm at over 2 years and about 10,000 miles - probably on the low end though. I've only heard of one person having to make a warranty claim for eventually getting a CEL. Most people have tens of thousands of miles.

You're definitely on the lower end but given the situation in the world these past two years I'm not surprised as I'm in a similar situation.

The downside for me is that I had to make a switch from my Fabspeed Carter DP to an ER one as my tune before BM3 had burbles that gurgled a lot that I feel deteriorated the HJS cats within the DP as I was getting some weird stutters on WOT that wad alleviated after getting an ER catted DP. I do miss my Fabspeed one that still currently sits in my basement and I want to recore and have a new car installed but Fabspeed told me it would be $1600 for that process and I'm like to myself, how does this make sense if they're selling a new DP now for $1800.

Also keep in mind that prices have gone up quite a bit since thejeremyman9 and I purchased ours as I remembered mine coming out to $1100 ish and when I see the prices now I'm like :

Basically once you're not throwing out excessive burbles out the back I'd imagine you'd get a good amount of time out if it just wanted to post and make you aware that those precious HJS cats would be affected by the tune if any that you run. I will probably get a new cat installed as the sound it made compared to this ER DP doesn't compare in my opinion at least.

Yep, I was going to say that the price is sky high now, so the longevity is that much more concerning. I don't run any burble type tune but I'd still be looking to get many many miles out of the pipe for $1800. Or a good deal on a used one that hasn't been abused and hasn't run high mileage already. Thanks guys. Anyone else that has one please post your mileage

AA is another option, although the one user on here i talked to said he got a CEL from AA, then they sent him a new one and he got a CEL right away again...

CG precision also guarantees no CEL i believe, but they are very rare (and built to order)

Ha! No shit. That would really make me mad. I thought the AA pipes were pretty good but I'm the guy who was getting a CEL from the Mppk lower airbox, so I guess anything is possible.

Read more than once about 200 cell that are supposed to pass emissions - but actually dont. Be careful. I have chosen to just go de-cat and pay the small fee every year to swap cats for inspection.

I've gone the route of just swapping the factory cats in every other year to pass emissions.

Yikes. Here in PA if you drive the car less 5k miles a year you don't do emissions lol.

Another reason why I've opted to get my Fabspeed catted DP sorted out to avoid the DP swapping for emissions.

As far as I know, Fabspeed and Active Autowerke are the only two options that don't trigger the emission monitors

If you really want to guarantee no check engine light, emissions passed and pass on sniff test, get a euro 5/6 spec cat.
