Dunlop SP sport maxx GT - any good?
Dunlop SP sport maxx GT tyres - anyone come across these?
Are they a standard OEM fit? The new car I am looking at has them on, and I don't think I've seen a BMW shod with dunlop OEM before.. |

Lots of 1 series have them, a loan 118d I had for a day was fitted with them, it did wheel-spin a lot when pulling away quickly, but then I am used to xdrive.

Wife's X1 has them. Less road noise than I was expecting from them.

I had the run flat versions on a JCW. for a run flat they're good. Not as good as the Goodyears though.

I actually just fitted these 2k ago, seem pretty good, good grip low noise, don't seem soft or unsettled, no wheel spins either, thumbs up from me. I wanted non runflats but GY don't release full bmw sizes till end of the this month.

I have the 20" Runflats on mine. They look better than the Pirelli's at least haha.
Under normal driving they are fine. But when pushed hard, I don't feel confident that they have enough grip. The car seems to feel light under acceleration. I've tried LC a couple of times and the first time has always just span up the wheels, so had to stop and launch again.

I have these in 21" on my X5.
For a runflat, I've been impressed. Certainly much better than the Bridgestones that were on my 330. They seem fairly quiet (certainly quieter than the P Zeros that were on the demo with same wheels) but I probably can't opine on ultimate grip given the type of car they're fitted to, capable enough for the X5 though.

Both my F10 had them, perfectly fine and quiet.

I've got them on my F10 and I agree, they're fine. Just replaced the rears like-for-like.

My 640d came with them.
Very harsh ride and lack of grip on the limit. Also terrible in the wet. Took them off straight after the engine was worn in and swapped them for Michelin's. Never looked back since. |
